On 29 January 2009, Turkish PM Erdogan had a heated exchange with Israeli president Peres at the Davos Summit over the then in-progress Gaza War. Erdogan left Davos in a huff immediately thereafter; CNN carried live footage of the PM arriving back home, where his plane was met on the tarmac by a cheering throng of supporters waving Turkish flags and a number of Palestinian flags with the Turkish star and crescent in the hoist triangle. From the looks of them, they were not homemade, either.
